Welcome to Cantley Community Centre

Serving the Community

Recycling Initiative

From 1st February 2026, Cantley Community Centre will participate in Doncaster Council’s business recycling programme. This new initiative will ensure that all acceptable dry recyclable waste generated at the Centre is properly sorted and processed. Items such as paper, cardboard, metals, and certain plastics—including plastic bottles—will be recycled as part of this regime.

Our Commitment to the Environment

Our primary aim is to contribute positively to the environment by reducing the volume of waste sent to landfill. By supporting this recycling effort, the Centre hopes to promote a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society for everyone.

How You Can Help

Blue recycling bins will be placed throughout the Centre for your convenience. We kindly request that all visitors and users of the Centre dispose of their rubbish in the appropriate bins. Your cooperation will greatly assist our staff in maintaining an effective recycling system.

About Us

A Brief History

Cantley Community Centre began life as the South Cantley Community Association in 1998, when a group of local residents took over the former Cantley first School building. Since then there have been many trials, tribulations and successes culminating today with a social amenity that is a registered charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee, offering a range of educational, social, academic and leisure facilities. It is open to all members of the community regardless of social standing, gender, political and religious beliefs, age or race.

Our Aims

To be the 'HUB' of the Community

It is our aim to become “the Hub” of the community bringing all aspects of the community together and promote understanding.

Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Cantley and surrounding areas without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

Promote charitable activities and be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion.
